About

I am Michele a ‘fifty something’ woman looking to change eating habits that come from tradition and are generations old. To do so, I am on a quest to not only find ways to break old habits, but to also inspire others to do so. Let us begin together…

Hello. Welcome to ‘Fight Disease With Food’, a journey to discover the incredible life giving power found in nature’s medicine cabinet.

My journey to better health began in 2001 when I realized that I did not want to get caught in the cycle of sickness and disease that had ravaged my family and community, and continues to do so at the time of this writing. According to the Center for American Progress, statistically, “African Americans have higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease than other groups.” I mention this statistic because it is my experience and I want to shed light on this growing epidemic. I am not a doctor or nutritionist, just a concerned citizen with a desire to make a difference! Through well researched studies, information from experts, articles and experience, my mission is to equip others with the knowledge necessary to foster a lifestyle change.

We will explore the health benefits of an array of beautiful fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and juices. I will share my favorite wellness recipes plus ways that I stay fit physically and mentally.

So come on ‘cycle breakers’ let’s do this!

Eat well,

Michele
